課程概述 |
This two-semester, three-hour-per-week course is one of four major divisions of Freshman English offered as an option for fulfilling all NTU students’ one-year language requirement. This division involves reading, writing, and discussion of both teacher- and student-selected materials. The native English-speaking instructor is strict in class and parsimonious in grading; students desiring high grades for little work need not apply for this section.
After introductory lectures on formal composition skills, the teacher will model in-class presentation since students will follow suit in various modes of presentation including simple reportage, panel discussion, debate, etc. throughout the rest of the year. Class attendance and participation contribute to students’ grades, as do the three required in-class compositions and class presentation each semester. This class has been designed for those willing to work hard to improve their English writing, reading, and presentational skills. All others, beware.
